The best overall source for statistics on respiratory diseases in Canada is the report called Life and Breath: Respiratory Disease in Canada, released in November 2007. This report is a collaborative effort of the Public Health Agency of Canada's Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, the Canadian Lung Association, Statistics Canada, and the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

Asthma
Statistics Canada provides a recent overview of the Canadian population that has asthma.
COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis)
Statistics Canada has broken down their research on the percentage of Canadians living with COPD.
Lung Cancer
It is estimated that in 2014:
- 26,100 Canadians will be diagnosed with lung cancer: 14% of all new cancer cases in 2014.
- 20,500 Canadians will die from lung cancer. This represents 27% of all cancer deaths in 2014.
- 13,400 men will be diagnosed with lung cancer and 10,800 will die from it.
- 12,700 women will be diagnosed with lung cancer and 9,700 will die from it.
- On average, 72 Canadians will be diagnosed with lung cancer every day.
- On average, 56 Canadians will die from lung cancer every day.
