COVID-19 & New Brunswick Lung

March 25, 2020

Dear NB Lung Community,

First and foremost, we hope you and your loved ones are well during these unprecedented and challenging times. We wish to assure you that the New Brunswick Lung Association is committed to doing our part to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic by observing all social distancing and other recommendations provided by Public Health officials. We continue to closely monitor this rapidly changing situation.

In response to the government’s recommendations, our office is closed to the public. Nonetheless, we are operating as usual with a few minor exceptions:

· Team members are working remotely
· All meetings have been rescheduled as video/teleconferences.
· Upcoming events are being redesigned to be delivered online, wherever feasible.
· Regrettably, during this time, we are unable to process orders for radon test kits.

You may still reach us by phone at 506-455-8961 or 1-800-565-5864. Team members are accessing voicemail remotely.

As we continue to work to lead lung health initiatives, prevent lung disease, help people manage lung disease, and promote lung health, we are thrilled to announce that Benevity is supporting our work by matching donations to New Brunswick Lung Association. Gifts to NBLA will help Canadian researchers find a cure for COVID-19. If you have the means and the desire to help us, please donate here.

Our colleagues at Canadian Lung Association will be hosting a free webinar on March 27, 2020 entitled “COVID-19 and Your Lung Health”. You may pre-register here.

When you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.

Barbara MacKinnon,
PhD President and CEO
