Canadian Lung Association Plaza / Clean Air Trail
The Canadian Lung Association Plaza commemorates the one hundredth anniversary of the Canadian Lung Association (CLA). It features interpretive display panels depicting the story of the CLA, Canada ’s oldest health charity. The centrepiece of the site is a magnificent stone monument from Copenhagen , Denmark commemorating Danish Postmaster Einar Holbøll who created the Christmas Seal in 1903.
The site is located at the head of the New Brunswick Lung Association’s Clean Air Trail in Rockwood Park, Saint John . The Clean Air Trail is a way to learn about outdoor air quality through ten bilingual self-interpretative trail signs. The trail is located in beautiful Rockwood Park in the heart of Saint John , New Brunswick . Visitors to the trail will learn how geography, topography and weather patterns can affect the air one breathes. They will also learn first-hand about air quality, its effects on health and the environment, and the important role citizens play in helping to improve air quality.
The Canadian Lung Association Plaza and Clean Air Trail is open year round. Trail guidebooks are available at the Rockwood Park offices.
